@ Guy

I apoligise what you say is correct. It is Cyrtostachys renda
It is one of the 2 non endemic palm trees in Vallée de Mai. The other one is the Chinese fan palm or Livistona chinensis . It could be mistaken for a youngish coco-de-mer, but the tips of the leaf lobes are strongly drooping. It is said to come from southern China.
These two exotic palms were known to be found in the Vallée, but I thought they had been eliminated.
Other exotics are being removed, so there’s no reason why the palms shouldn’t be as well…

Could you say when exactly this picture has been taken?
Thanks anyway,

If you want to cut them down, I can look for the coordinates from my GPS-Recorder

Normally SIF (Seychelles Island Foundation) knows where these palms occur in Vallée de Mai, but it could be a great help if you could give me the right position. I asked you when the picture was taken to be sure the trees were not cut down in the meantime, because I was in Vallée de mai the 8th and 9th of Mai a few weeks ago but did not notice these palms.
Thanks a lot,
Guy
